Receive UX Kills Tips Before Fees Do

QR receive props illustrating tip UX

Low fees are necessary for micro-tips. They are not sufficient. Most failed tip experiments die in the ten seconds where a fan cannot trust an address fast enough to finish the gesture.

The broken funnel

  1. Creator mentions “tips welcome in DOGE.”
  2. Fan opens a wallet (or does not have one).
  3. Address arrives via link-in-bio → shortener → third page → maybe a QR.
  4. Fan abandons, or worse, follows a phishing clone of the same flow.

At no point did the fee market stop them. Latency of trust did.

What “good” looks like

Why Dogecoin still matters here

When receive UX is fixed, DOGE’s fee/speed profile makes the tip feel like a tip instead of a wire transfer. That is the velocity layer doing its job. If receive UX stays broken, no chain parameters save the product.
