Tipping Playbook — Creators & Small Merchants
A field manual for accepting small DOGE payments without turning your stream, shop, or newsletter into a support ticket hell. Educational only.
Success metric: a stranger can pay you in under ten seconds without installing a “special” app that asks for a seed.
1. Separate roles of money
- Hot tip jar — small balance, easy receive QR, phone or desktop wallet you open daily.
- Cold store — larger balance, hardware or air-gapped habit, rare moves.
- Fiat rail — still exists for rent and taxes; DOGE is not a tax strategy.
2. Receive path (the actual product)
- Generate a dedicated receive address (or rotate on a schedule you can manage).
- Print or display a static QR for the tip jar if amounts are small and public.
- Put the QR where the audience already looks: stream overlay, pin comment, counter, link-in-bio.
- State the asset clearly: “DOGE on Dogecoin mainnet” — not “crypto” vaguely.
Anti-pattern: multi-step “claim tip” websites, seed-import gates, or DMs that ask fans to send first to “verify.”
3. Operating checklist (daily)
- ☐ Hot wallet balance is an amount you can zero emotionally
- ☐ Seed for cold store is offline (see seed hygiene)
- ☐ QR still matches the address on a second screen
- ☐ Public copy does not promise returns, airdrops, or “matched tips”
- ☐ You have a written rule for sweeping hot → cold

5. Scam season for tip receivers
When your coin is culturally loud, attackers impersonate you and your audience. Pin a rule: you never DM first asking for seed or “verification sends.” Point fans to your scams checklist and official channels only.
